DEFENDER of the favicon

This is just cool on so many levels. Not only did Mathieu Henri do a remake of the old Defender game, he squeezed it into the tiny 16x16 pixel space of the favicon (the little icon shown in the browser tabs and in the address bar, among other places).
It started with Scott Schiller experimenting with a dynamic favicon VU meter for his SoundManager2 library and Mathieu just had to take it a bit further, combining JavaScript, Canvas and data: URIs for great retro gaming glory.
The controls are simple, the gameplay is hard and if the whole favicon is working out for you, you can switch to another slightly larger canvas-based view. More information is available on the game page.
