"Is this the best version of Pacman in JavaScript ever made?" asks Harry Guillermo on his Pacman site and follows up with the answer "Of course not". I don't know if it's the best, but it's certainly a nice effort and it shows that Harry put in some hard work making it play well.
The game starts with a small boot sequence reminiscent of old arcade. Whether it's the actual Pacman screen garbage, I don't know, but it's a nice touch all the same. The game graphics also stay close to the original experience, just higher resolution and sharper, with the odd pixelated sprite thrown in (for whatever reason). Sound is delivered through SoundManager2.
Although something about the sharp, clean look just bugs me, I'd say that overall, it's a pretty solid effort at recreating the Pacman experience with DHTML.
