I'm no good with Japanese so I didn't get much out of the text on the page (what little there was) but the game is playable without it and the goal is the same as it has always been - collect gold and avoid/trap enemies.

Satoshi Ueyama has made a lot of cool stuff including some really neat canvas demos. This game, however, uses simple DOM manipulation and CSS sprites to create its nice old-schooley look.
